Abstract
Education and training needs of various user groups among the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) stakeholders are continuously increasing – however, so far and by conventional means, ISO has been able to cover only a fraction of this growing demand.
Moreover, being able to deliver a message to the managers of the future on the importance of standardization as a strategic business tool is considered a high priority by ISO.
eLearning offers an exceptional opportunity to better address these needs and to strengthen the capacity of ISO. This presentation intends to highlight ISO's objectives and plans on eLearning, i.e. the development of learning content "modules" that teach users about ISO standards and the standardization process.
ISO has chosen to follow an "open source" approach on eLearning, and there are several other "open source" activities underway in ISO to support the standardization process. Along with eLearning, the presentation will briefly introduce two other ISO projects adopting the open source model: (2) the collaborative development of IT tools supporting standards development; (3) the development of open source implementations of the ISO/IEC 20944 metadata interoperability and binding standards.

Les
besoins des différents groupes d'utilisateurs au sein du public de l'ISO
(International Standards Organisation) en matière d'éducation et
de formation sont en constante progression. Or, jusqu'à présent
et en utilisant des moyens conventionnels, l'ISO n'a pu répondre qu'à
une faible proportion de cette demande croissante.
Par ailleurs, l'ISO attache
une très grande importance à la sensibilisation des dirigeants d'entreprises
de demain au rôle essentiel de la normalisation en tant qu'outil stratégique
et économique.
Avec l'apprentissage en ligne, on dispose d'une occasion formidable de mieux répondre à ces besoins et de renforcer les compétences de l'ISO. Cet exposé vise à mettre en lumière les objectifs et les projets de l'ISO en matière d'apprentissage en ligne, c'est-à-dire, l'élaboration de "modules" de contenus permettant de faire mieux connaître aux utilisateurs les normes ISO et la normalisation en tant que telle.
L'ISO a souhaité privilégier une démarche ouverte (" open source ") pour l'apprentissage en ligne, d'autres actions ouvertes étant déjà en cours au sein de l'ISO en rapport avec la normalisation. Cet exposé évoquera, ainsi, deux autres projets de l'ISO s'appuyant sur le modèle "open source" : (2) l'élaboration conjointe d'outils informatiques pour appuyer l'élaboration de normes ; (3) l'élaboration de techniques de mise en œuvre "open source" des normes ISO/IEC 20944 relatives à l'interopérabilité des méta données et des normes obligatoires.
